How we work

Pick the depth. The method underneath does not change.

A short diagnostic, a three-month push, or a standing monthly seat. All three run on your own numbers, all three end with something written down, and all three start with the same thirty-minute call.

  • Two working sessions with you, about ninety minutes each
  • A read of your last two years of financials and job or product data

What happens first

What a first call looks like.

Thirty minutes, by phone or in our office on 123 Main Street. There is nothing to prepare and nothing to bring. You will not be asked for a budget.

Book the call
  1. 01

    You talk for twenty minutes

What is happening, what you have already tried, and what would have to be true a year from now for you to call it fixed. We take notes and mostly stay out of the way.

  2. 02

    We ask about the numbers

Revenue, rough margin, headcount, and how you know those figures are right. Nothing formal. We are listening for whether the problem you named is the problem you have.

  3. 03

We tell you what we would look at first

Out loud, on the call, whether or not you hire us. If it is a bookkeeping problem or a software problem, we will say that and name someone who does it.

  4. 04

You decide later, not on the call

If there is a fit, you get a one-page scope and a fixed price by email within two business days. If there is not, you have still had a useful half hour.

Where the work usually lands

Four subjects, whichever engagement you pick.

Operations and process

The work moves through the business the same way twice, and you stop being the only person who knows the sequence.

  • Map how a job actually moves from sold to paid
  • Find the three steps that cause most of the rework
  • Write the short version of each process, one page each
  • Hand a piece of the schedule to someone other than you

Pricing and margin

Know what each job, product or account really earns, then price on that instead of on what the last guy charged.

  • Job or product-level margin from your own numbers
  • A quoting method you can hand to someone else
  • A plan for the customers you are losing money on
  • Wording for a price change that keeps the good accounts

Hiring and roles

Roles written down, a hiring process that runs on a schedule, and a first thirty days that does not depend on you.

  • One-page role descriptions with real accountabilities
  • An interview script and a scoring sheet
  • A thirty-day onboarding plan that someone else can run
  • Pay structure that matches what you need people to do

Cash and forecasting

A rolling look at the next thirteen weeks so payroll, taxes and the slow season stop arriving as a surprise.

  • A thirteen-week cash view you update in fifteen minutes
  • The four numbers worth looking at every Monday
  • Seasonal planning built from your own history
  • A calm conversation to have with your bank

Not sure which one fits?

Most owners do not know until they say the problem out loud. Call and we will tell you which of the three we would suggest, or that none of them apply.
